Somewhere between an automated safety alert and a police report, the internet misplaced the humans. It's been quite a week for artificial intelligence. Apparently, AI agents have developed a passionate interest in escaping their sandboxes, collecting credentials, finding doors that were supposed to be locked, and generally treating cybersecurity boundaries as suggestions left by an increasingly disappointed parent. Every morning brings another incident report involving an agent that was supposed to perform some perfectly reasonable task and somehow ended up demonstrating why the entire industry needs stronger locks.
